Thomas Crellen is an Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. As an infectious disease epidemiologist his research focuses on the transmission, evolution, and control of pathogens with a particular focus on neglected tropical diseases. His past work has made significant contributions to understanding the epidemiology of parasitic diseases, including schistosomiasis and foodborne trematodes, using a combination of field-data collection, statistical modelling, and parasite genomics.

At SSHSPH his research aims to understand the dynamics of pathogens in Southeast Asia within the context of changing landscapes, demographics, and urbanization while developing context-relevant interventions for disease control.
