Nirada Vannavong
Researcher
Nirada is a medical doctor who holds a Master’s degree in Tropical Medicine and International Health from the Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute. With a primary research focus on developing mathematical and economic models for informed policy decisions, she contributes to evidence-based decision-making in healthcare. Currently, she is engaged in evaluating the cost-effectiveness of human papillomavirus and rotavirus vaccination among adolescents and children, respectively. This research collaboration involves working closely with the Unit for Health Economics and Policy as well as the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group in Lao PDR and the National University of Singapore. Through her work, Nirada strives to provide valuable insights and recommendations to enhance healthcare policies and improve the well-being of the population.
At CERM, she is one of the research members. Moreover, she is currently working on the NUS Lao Programme, which focuses on various projects such as improving water access and quality, addressing HPV vaccine inequity and cervical cancer elimination, and improving antimicrobial dispensing in private pharmacies in Lao PDR, under the supervision of Dr Kiesha.
Beyond her work, she loves to travel and explore new places. When she is at home, she enjoys watching series and reading manga or cartoons. She also listens to podcasts and pop music and tries to catch live concerts whenever she can. Sometimes, she goes running or plays badminton to stay active.
