Alex R Cook
Professor
Alex and his team have worked on a variety of outbreaks over the years, including dengue, influenza and COVID-19. His team often collaborates with government agencies, including the National Environment Agency, the Ministry of Health, NParks, and the Health Promotion Board. He was awarded the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam (Perak) (COVID-19) and the COVID-19 Resilience Medal for his contributions to Singapore’s response during that pandemic.
At CERM, he acts as Centre Director. He is also the Vice Dean for Global Health at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health.
Outside of work, despite all appearances to the contrary, he often runs, usually doing several HMs a year and occasionally FMs. He also likes hiking in the mountains of Japan.
