Bridging Global Gaps In Infectious Disease Modelling

Dr. Oliver Morgan is Director of the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin, a €120m initiative enhancing global detection of health threats through better data, analytics, and decision-making. He previously led WHO’s global surveillance and risk assessment efforts, including during COVID-19. From 2007–2016, he held leadership roles at the US CDC, including Ebola Incident Manager and Country Director. Earlier, he worked in the UK’s NHS/Health Protection Agency and with humanitarian NGOs. Dr. Morgan holds a doctorate in epidemiology from Imperial College London and is a Fellow of the UK Faculty of Public Health and CDC EIS alumnus.
