Visit by Linköping University, Sweden

On 1 September 2026, CERM was pleased to host 10 PhD students from Forum Scientium, an interdisciplinary graduate school at Linköping University, Sweden.
The group shared insights into their programme, highlighting the benefits of working across a wide range of disciplines and the diverse applications of their research.
Hannah Clapham also provided an overview of infectious disease transmission modelling, including past and ongoing work at Centre for Epidemic Research and Modelling (CERM).
This was followed by a lively discussion on how modelling can be used to address applied questions, covering different types of models, approaches used both in the laboratory and on computers, and the commonalities across different fields.
