Kiesha Prem

Assistant Professor

Kiesha is an infectious disease modeller whose work spans both policy and practice. She builds computational models to understand the population impact and cost-effectiveness of interventions against infectious diseases such as HPV and COVID-19. Over the years, her work has supported national and global immunisation strategies, including guiding single-dose HPV vaccine schedules and contributing to government policy discussions.

She holds joint appointments as Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore’s Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. At NUS, she also heads the NUS Public Health programme in Lao PDR and leads the Southeast Asia Regional Collaborative for Health (SEARCH) network, which focuses on strengthening strategic purchasing for primary healthcare in the region. Her team developed the widely used global synthetic contact matrices for modelling infectious disease transmission.

Outside of work, she enjoys long walks, discovering new places through food, and spending time with her family—who keep her grounded and curious.
